DCC Conversion
Older N scale analogue DC locomotives can be converted and retrofitted with newer modern DCC sound decoders from ESU and Zimo for enhanced control and functionality. DCC decoder options include Next18, E24, or direct drop-in style.
Sound Installation
Analogue DC locomotives lack digital control and sound — upgrading to a newer modern DCC decoder with 16bit sound and a custom-built speaker can enhance the operational experience. ESU LokSound 5 and ZIMO Elektronik MS series sound decoders offer truly amazing sound plus rock solid slow speed operation.
Chassis Milling
Older DC locomotives may require precision milling in order to allow for a modern DCC decoder board and a speaker. Care is taken to accurately measure and then remove any extraneous split-frame material with a Proxxon MF70 vertical milling machine.
Lighting Enhancements
Prototypical headlights look amazing and are achieved with newer SMD LEDs that provide accurate colour temperatures that can range from warmer 2700 to cooler 5000 degrees kelvin. Custom-made wiring harnesses and SMD LED direct to lens mounts are standard.
